Local Groups

Listed here are modern quilt groups that meet in the UK and those that have an online presence only. Please contact the group for more information about membership, meetings etc.

People are always looking for a group or groups to join. If you know of, or already belong to a modern quilt group somewhere in the UK, please consider sharing the group's details here for others to find. Please mail details to the Website Editor.

Groups known to be affiliated to the Quilters Guild of the British Isles (or about to become so) are identified below.

There are a number of modern quilts groups across the UK that are affiliated to the US's Modern Quilt Guild (MQG).  Affiliation to MQG, or membership of a group that is affiliated to MQG, is not the same as membership of the QGBI Modern Quilt Special Interest Group. For information about becoming a member of QGBI and/or a Special Interest group, click here.

Region 7: Modern and Art Quilt Design Group with Bev Mayo (new June 2019)

This group focuses on contemporary, modern and art quilt designs and techniques. Starting with exploring ideas by sketching and colour exercises, we are developing design skills in relation to patchwork and quilting. There will be a theme each month with the aim of producing a small 'journal' quilt each month.

A good understanding of patchwork and quilting techniques and be looking to develop as a quilt artist is where this group starts.  New members are always welcome.

If you are interested in joining the group, please phone 01234 824983 or look on our website – search for Modern and Art.
